AHA! die awesome = live awesome

Dear friends,
There is a super interesting tapestry of synchronicity and AHAs! that have contributed to my tah-dah-I-am-becoming-a-renegade-courtesan-hand-reader moment.  It includes juicy + deep conversations with friends, a uniquely provocative lover and a series of smaller, just-as-important AHAs! that led to a watershed realization.  I have learned to pay attention to those tiny AHAs! for they are just as important, especially when collated.

One of these AHAs! occurred on a quiet night out in the woods this summer, walking back to my tent arm in arm with a friend.

AHA!
Help people die awesome = Help people live awesome.

I have seen this repeatedly in my work on the palliative care unit and even in my residential care settings.  Those who live their lives fully alive + engaged die differently. How differently?  I am wiggling in my seat to find the right words. In my experience, I have noticed that those who live well seem to die in a way that feels like a beautiful, rich + immediate legacy for those who love them, for those who are connected to them.  This is a contrast to (broadly speaking) deaths that become traumas or deep wounds for the people who live on.
What does live awesome mean?
I think it begins by living authentically, by being exactly yourself.  I believe everything flows from here, especially genius + joy.

The brilliant, amazing + hilarious simplicity of this is that it is actually extremely difficult to just be yourself in this world.  My man Emerson knows this:

The clue trail that I'm specifically after, as a Renegade Courtesan Hand Analyst, is the clue trail in your very own two amazing hands.

Hand analysis is a centuries old discipline, an art + science that was once widely used in both Western and Eastern cultures for self-inquiry to better understand character, personality and "destiny."

I have the great fortune to study with Richard Unger + the International Institute of Hand Analysis (IHHA) whose unique approach blends Eastern + Western palmistry.  The IIHA approach is not about divination or predicting the future; it is about reading what is possible for an individual's life based on the unique pattern-based language of the hands.  The practice of hand reading therefore is meant to increase insight + accentuate opportunities for individuals to make conscious choices based on what is most in resonant alignment with their truest self.

Each feature of the hand from fingerprint, to finger crooks, to the map of palmar lines - every single one of these features is significant. They tell a story of both the ego-based human self + eternal, essential Self. A person's hands are his / her personality blueprint, outlining the architecture of unique character strengths, challenges, needs and motivations at a point in time.  Most profoundly is the fact that one's fingerprints contain a specific coded message that speaks to a person's life purpose.  Understanding and living one's life purpose gives richness, deep satisfaction, resonance + meaning to life that radiates outward to affect many people.

This is how I intend to help people live awesome so they can die awesome.  I hope to use the wisdom contained in the hands to guide conversation.  I want to have focused, attentive, warmly grounded + intimate conversations with people for the purposes of self-understanding, self-discovery + empowerment so that they ultimately can live more awesome lives.

Boom.

That ups the likelihood that they would die awesome.

Simple, elegant, efficient.  FUN.  LOVE.

Yours full of hope + scheming,

A favorite quote of mine.
On the essential value of unwrapping + being one's unique Self,
